Heisman High School Scholarship

TO ACHIEVE AWARD ELIGIBILITY FOR THE 2024 HEISMAN HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP PRESENTED BY ACCEPTANCE INSURANCE, STUDENTS MUST BE SENIORS DURING THE 2024-2025 ACADEMIC YEAR, GRADUATING WITH THE CLASS OF 2025. APPLICANTS MUST
1) Have a cumulative weighted high school grade point average (GPA) of a B (3.0) or better.
2) Be a leader in school and in the community and serve as a role model for underclassman.

Varsity Tutors Scholarship Contest - $1,000

Varsity Tutors holds a monthly $1,000 college scholarship contest where students write an essay in response to a monthly prompt. Visitors to the scholarship webpage are able to vote via social media for submitted entries. The top five entries with the most votes are reviewed at the end of the month and one winner is subsequently chosen to receive the $1,000 college scholarship. Interested students can enter the contest on the website provided.
AES Engineering Scholarship - $500.00

Stand Up to Distracted Driving Scholarship

To be eligible:

James Cox Student Photography Scholarships - $2,500 - 5 Awards Given

Look Twice, Save A Life Scholarship - $1,000 - 1 Award

One applicant will be chosen who best brings awareness to motorcycle safety. The scholarship will be awarded on an annual basis for the Spring semester.
Current college student or anyone planning on attending college (or another form of higher education) in the upcoming school year.
Student must have a valid driver’s license.
American Rocketry Challenge
Deadline: December 1, 2024
To be eligible a student must:
1) Be a part of three to ten students.
2) Build a model rocket that carries one large hen egg to an altitude of 850 feet, stays airborne for between 42-45 seconds, and returns the rocket to the ground safely.
Hagan Scholarship Foundation - Need Based Merit Scholarships for Rural Students
Deadline: December 1, 2024
Eligibility Requirements:
1) Must be a US citizen.
2) Must attend a public high school.
3) Must be a seniors.
4) Must have achieved a 3.50 GPA or higher.
5) Must score 23 or higher on the ACT (Composite Score) OR 1150 or higher on the SAT (Total Score).
6) Must enroll at an eligible four year college or university for Fall semester following high school graduation.
7) Must work 240 hours in the 12 months prior to the start of each academic year of college.
8) MUST complete the FAFSA in 2024/2025 - EFC(Expected Family Contribution) must be less that $6,500.
9) Must apply for eligible Federal and State grants.
10) Must not have been convicted of a felony.

North American Van Lines Logistics Scholarship - $1,000 - 5 Awards Given

RYAM Scholarship - $10,000 paid over 4 years

National BETA Scholarship - 250 Awards $1,000-$20,000

12th grade Senior Beta members, registered with the national headquarters as of November 1, 2024, are eligible to apply for a National Beta Scholarship.
Selection of National Beta Scholarship winners is based on a number of factors, with an emphasis on academic excellence, demonstrated leadership, commendable character, school and community service, as well as participation in National Beta Club activities.

Scholars Helping Collars Scholarship
Deadline: February 24, 2025
$1,500 The Scholars Helping Collars Scholarship is available to high school seniors. To be considered, you must submit an essay detailing your volunteer efforts to help animals in need, and how that involvement has changed your life or shaped your perceptions on the importance of animal welfare.
Georgia Farm Bureau Scholarships Foundation for Agriculture Scholarships

Share Health Southeast Georgia Scholarship - 1,000
Deadline: March 1st
The Share Health Southeast Georgia Scholarship Fund was created to provide annual
scholarships to graduating seniors from high schools and homeschools in the 16-county
region of the Southeast Health District who show an interest in pursuing a career in
healthcare. The following criteria will apply:
1. Plan to study public health/healthcare in their university or college work.
2. Maintain good grades.
3. Be involved in extracurricular activities, especially those activities involved in health,
within the school and/or within the community.
4. Attend a college or university.
5. Complete an application form and include a one-page essay reflecting the role
healthcare plays in his/her life, how the major they are pursuing relates and where
in Georgia they want to be employed after they graduate.
6. Submit two signed letters of reference.
7. Demonstrate financial need. FAFSA is available to complete now. The SAR report is
required and can be received within 48 hours of completing the FAFSA.

Marshland Credit Union Scholarship - $1,500.00

Community Foundation South Georgia Scholarships

Taking the Eligibility Quiz:

Students should read and answer these questions carefully as their answers will determine which scholarships they are eligible to apply for. Once a student has taken the Eligibility Quiz, they cannot retake it, so we encourage them to review the scholarships listed on Our Scholarships page prior to taking the quiz so that they understand the criteria for each scholarship they plan to apply for.
After submitting their Eligibility Quiz answers, click “Continue” to return to the Apply page. The Apply page will then list the scholarship opportunities that they are eligible for. Satilla REMC Foundation Scholarship

The COAG Scholarship is open to any Georgia high school senior who is a United States and Georgia citizen graduating by the spring of 2025. You must be seeking an undergraduate degree, not a diploma, or certification.
The criteria for the award includes:
- presenting a letter of acceptance or letter of enrollment from a school of accredited higher education located within Georgia (four-year college, junior college or technical
college);
- providing proof of residency in the State of Georgia (GA Driver’s License or GA ID Card);
- submitting a 1,000-word essay; and presenting a COAG scholarship application (paper application may be

Okefenokee Swamp Park Science Scholar Scholarship
Deadline: March 28, 2025
The Okefenokee Swamp Park Inc., in an effort to support a graduating senior who is planning to pursue a postsecondary degree in one of the Biological/Physical Sciences or Science Education, will award a $1,000 scholarship in the spring of 2025 to the selected student from each of the Okefenokee RESA area school districts (Atkinson, Bacon, Brantley, Camden, Charlton, Clinch, Coffee, Pierce, and Ware). Additionally, the OSP Scholar will also receive a “Lifetime Pass” for entrance into the Okefenokee Swamp Park.
This scholarship will be awarded to an individual who has shown a passion for science and is also dedicated to influencing growth in science. The recipient will be an individual who has a strong desire to communicate with others the importance of science, research, science education, and/or science advocacy. Preference will be given to those applicants who can show evidence of a profound bond to the ecosystems in the Okefenokee RESA area school districts, including but not limited to the Okefenokee Swamp.

Complete applications will be reviewed by the OSP Scholarship Committee and three finalists from each school district will be selected for interviews with the committee. After interviews, the Okefenokee Swamp Park Science Scholarship will be awarded to one well-qualified applicant from each district.
Make Your Mark Scholarship
Deadline: March 31th, 2025.
Corner Market Antiques has created the Make your Mark Scholarship to assist graduates in pursuing their dreams. This scholarship in the amount of $500 will be awarded to one senior enrolled at Ware, Pierce, or Brantley County High School. Applications can be obtained from and returned to the guidance department of these schools.
Boom & Bucket Student Scholarship

Ava Rose Lightsey Scholarship
Deadline: April 1, 2025
Each year the Brantley County School System will award the Ava Rose Strickland Lightsey Scholarship to at least one eligible graduate of Brantley County High School who is enrolled in and will attend an accredited college, university, or vocational school.
At least one scholarship will be awarded to a Brantley County graduate who meets eligibility and agrees to the terms of the scholarship.
The recipient will receive $1,000 per semester, for two semesters per year, for a maximum of 4 years or 8 semesters.
Applicant must able to exhibit financial need.
Brantley County FRIENDS of the LIBRARY Scholarship - $500.00

Applicants must have a public library card at least 6 months prior to applying for this scholarship. You must turn in the Completed Application Packet to the Public Library in Nahunta.
Brantley County Farm Bureau Scholarship
Deadline: April 18, 2025
The applicant must show proof of acceptance or enrollment in an accredited Georgia College, University, or Technical School and Pursuing a two- or four-year degree in an area related to Agriculture, Forestry, or Family/Consumer
Sciences. Finalists will be interviewed to determine the winner and runners up.

Coastal Pines Technical College Foundation Scholarship

Must have already applied and planning to attend Coastal Pines Technical College after graduation. One winner will be chosen from each high school in our area.
"Mr. Mack" Scholarship
Deadline: April 30th
Marion Lee "Mack" Carver loved serving the community. He served as the Hortense Volunteer Fire Chief for years, ordained Baptist minister, Georgia Emergency Management Manager and Brantley Co School bus manager for years. Mr. Mack loved working at the bus barn and helping at schools in any way he could to make their day better.
Mr. Mack believed in helping anyone no matter who they were. Mr. Mack is no longer with us, but his dream to help others lives on through his family and through this scholarship.
One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a Brantley Co graduate.
Legacy Art Scholarship

Legacy Tattoo LLC in Nahunta is pleased to be able to offer a $500 Scholarship to a 2024-2025 graduating senior from Brantley County High School.

Timothy Caleb Crews Memorial Scholarship - $1,000
To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

4) Be active in some form of ministry in your local church.
5) Show qualities of good Christian character and leadership.

Brantley Co Chamber of Commerce Create Your Way Scholarship

This scholarship award is given with the realization that excellence and genius is demonstrated in a variety of forms. The Create Your Way award seeks to foster characteristics such as creativity and strategic planning, which can transform communities.
Applications should be postmarked or submitted to the Brantley County Chamber of
Commerce (Drawer B, Nahunta, Georgia 31553) by Friday, May 2, 2025. The award will be
presented at the Brantley County High School Honors Night.
David Skinner/Georgia Development Authority Scholarship

Eligibility:
The applicant must be a high school senior or not beyond the freshman year in college.
The applicant must have successfully passed their high school academic requirements and have college entrance exam scores qualifying their admission to an accredited Georgia College.
Applicant must be a Georgia resident and live in a rural county.
Applicant must be pursuing a degree directly related to agriculture.

BigSun Scholarship - $500.00

The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. In order to do our part we are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible regardless of the sport they are engaged in or the capacity in which they participate. The student must be a high school senior or be attending a post secondary institute.
